The 482 visa needs PTE Academic 33, 36, 29 and 24 in listening, reading, writing and speaking, or IELTS 5 in each skill, from a test taken in the last 3 years (Home Affairs, checked 16 October 2026).

What PTE and IELTS scores does the 482 visa need?
For a test taken from 13 September 2025, Home Affairs checks each skill on its own. There is no overall score.
For tests taken on or after 13 September 2025.

If your test offers a single-skill retake, Home Affairs may accept your result for that skill. Cambridge C1 Advanced is not in this table.

An older test is checked against the older table, which also has an overall score. All the scores must come from one sitting.
