Free PTE Academic practice test

Over 10,000 questions from real PTE exams, in all 22 question types. You get a score as soon as you answer, and thousands of questions are free.

How your answers are marked

After each question, you see your score, the right answer and where you lost marks.

Partial credit and negative marking follow Pearson's rules, so a wrong answer loses the same marks as in the real test.

Each spoken answer gets three scores: content, fluency and pronunciation.

Common questions

Is the PTE practice free?

Yes, to start. About 3,500 of our more than 11,000 questions are free, in 19 of the 22 question types. One full mock test is free too. With Pro, you get every question and every mock test.

Can I take a full PTE mock test?

Yes. Our mock tests are based on real exams and have all three parts, timed like the real test. You get your overall score and a score for each skill. You can also practise one question type at a time, in sets of ten questions.

Do the questions come from real PTE tests?

Yes. Over 10,000 questions were reported by test takers from real PTE Academic tests between 2022 and 2026, and about 340 come from Pearson's official practice tests.

How is speaking scored without an examiner?

Our engine listens to your recording. It checks your content against the task. It scores pronunciation and fluency separately, each out of 5, as in Pearson's score guide.

Does it include the new 2025 question types?

Yes. Respond to a Situation and Summarize Group Discussion are both here, with the same timing as the real test.

What PTE score do I need for Australian migration?

For tests taken from 7 August 2025, each skill has its own minimum. Proficient English needs 58 in listening, 59 in reading, 76 in speaking and 69 in writing. Superior English needs 69 in listening, 70 in reading, 88 in speaking and 85 in writing. Tests taken before that date use the old scores.
