Common questions

Is this IELTS Reading practice test free?
Yes — the timed test, your band score, and the full answer review are free, with no account needed to start. Your email at the end just saves the result.
Which question types does it cover?
The current paper pool covers multiple choice, True/False/Not Given, matching headings, and gap-fill — the four most common Academic Reading formats. More past papers are being added continuously.
How is the Reading band calculated?
Like the real test, your raw score converts to a band: on Academic Reading, 30 out of 40 is roughly band 7.0 and 35 is band 8.0. The conversion happens automatically when you finish.
Can I practice without the 60-minute timer?
Yes. Every past paper in the test library can also be opened as untimed practice, so you can work through the passages at your own pace before sitting the full timed test.
